Those behind Acoustic Slice Events first gained success when running Second Tuesday at The Pilgrim. The night featured the very best in local acoustic talent, providing some top local artists with their first ever booked gig.

The event was so successful that, unusually for an acoustic event, it was shifted to a Friday night and renamed Second Friday. Despite advice that Friday night was "disco night", we followed our instincts and our own love of the genre and Second Friday was an even bigger success than Second Tuesday.

A desire to be able to host acoustic based bands led us to switch venues to The Casa in Hope Street, where the renowned Payday Playtime took place on the last Friday of every month. This too was a knockout success.

At the same time, the night bearing the name Acoustic Slice was running at 3345 - the bar adjoining the world famous Parr Street Studios. This event took place every Monday night, attracting artists from right across the world, including Canada, the USA, and Australia!!

We decided to close that event earlier in 2008 with the aim of resurrecting Acoustic Slice in a theatre environment. However that would have to wait as we put our energies into organising the first ever Liverpool Working Class Music Festival. This predominantly folk event featured Dick Gaughan, Leon Rosselson, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Roy Bailey, The Alun Parry Band and more.

From December, Acoustic Slice relaunched within the lovely 80 seater theatre environment of Liverpool Actors Studio. We feel that this is an ideal environment for acoustic music and will be loved by artists and audience alike.
